Great insurance advice should not depend on who is free to pick up the phone. We are making it instant, accurate, and human, for every firm, in their own brand. Bob amplifies your advisers; it never replaces the licensed human.
Insurance runs on trust and speed, yet most people wait on hold, and most firms lose leads after hours. Bob closes that gap. It answers every contact on your site and chat, prepares a clear indicative estimate, and keeps a licensed human one tap away to give the advice and bind the policy. Firms keep their brand and their relationships; their customers get an answer, now.
We are not building software to replace advisers. We are building the thing that gives them their time back: Bob handles the routine intake and the record-keeping so your people can do the part only people can, the judgement and the duty of care. Instant, accurate, human, always. If we cannot be all three, we say so and bring in a person.
General-purpose assistants can already answer insurance questions, and the big broker networks are funding AI for their captive base. The firms most exposed are the independents who did not build either. Bob is their answer: a licensed, accountable, NZ-first agent that runs in your brand, not a vendor's, so you own the customer relationship instead of renting it. Own your AI relationship before someone else does.
These govern how Bob behaves and how we build it. They are the same rules whether a firm is watching or not.
An answer now, refined by a licensed human when it matters, beats a perfect answer tomorrow. Speed at first contact is the whole game.
Bob does the routine intake and the paperwork so advisers can do the judgement and the relationships. We augment the licensed human, never replace them.
Bob runs in your brand, on your domain, as your assistant. Each firm's book stays siloed to that firm, and never trains a shared model. Your customers are yours.
Every AI decision is explainable and logged with reasons. In a regulated world, trust is the product, so if it cannot be explained, it does not ship.
Bob discloses that it is AI at the first hello, keeps the human option visible, and never pretends to be a person or over-promises. No jargon, no false urgency.
Escalation is a feature, not a failure. Anything advice-shaped or unusual is held for a licensed adviser, who decides, binds, and is on the record. Bob never binds.
This is about the ownership model, not a knock on anyone. A general chatbot has no accountable human. A network's platform runs on their brand and their terms. Bob is the firm's own licensed assistant, built to keep the book and the relationship with the firm.
| A network's platform | Bob, in your brand | A general chatbot | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Runs in your firm's own brand and domain | No | Yes | No |
| Your book stays siloed to your firm | On their platform | Yes | No |
| Every AI decision logged with reasons | Varies | Yes | No |
| Indicative estimate you can read line by line | Varies | Yes | No |
| A licensed adviser reviews and binds | Yes, their adviser | Yes, your adviser | No |
| You keep the customer relationship | No | Yes | No |
Bob only works if both sides win: the firm keeps its brand and its book, and the customer gets a fast, honest answer with a real person behind it.
The hard, human parts of insurance, the judgement, the duty of care, the decision to bind, stay with a licensed person. Bob does the routine intake, the itemised indicative estimate, and the record-keeping, then hands the decision to your adviser, who is accountable to the client and to the FMA. That is not a limitation we plan to engineer away. It is the point. A firm that owns its AI, its brand, and its book keeps the relationship that makes it a firm.
Because everyone remembers a helpful person named Bob: the adviser who always picks up and always knows the answer. It is a name, not an acronym. But if you must have a meaning, we are partial to Brokerage Operating Brain.
Bob is built by its founders for independent insurance firms in New Zealand and Australia. One co-founder is a licensed financial adviser and holds the Financial Advice Provider (FAP) licence Bob operates under, so every piece of advice has a named, accountable human behind it. We are early, and we are honest about it.
